From Font Standards
Welcome to Font Standards dot org
As independent designers the font-production is always a major hassle, especially if the font-files have to be of production and publishable quality. Many aspects of character set, glyph naming, hinting, family naming, font formats, and compatibility with the software in which the fonts are used, takes a long time to research, compile, and proof.
Many designers want to design rather than fiddle with technicalities. This site offers a collaborative way to research, compile, and proof these into 'best practices' of font making.
Fontstandards.org is dedicated to information that will help to typeface designers and small foundries alike.
